Variable Frequency Drives

DX3 Enterprises Ltd. is an OEM manufacturer and integrator of Yaskawa Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems, which are predominantly used in oil & gas production and for industrial applications. EnerDrives are designed for the toughest oilfield and industrial environments; they’re rugged and reliable with a core VFD MTBF (mean time between failures) of 28 years. Contact Us today to learn more.

Through experience, we have determined the real-world requirements for reliable power systems in extremely harsh environments and have designed our Variable Speed Drives and Electrical Distribution Systems to exceed these operating parameters.

The comprehensive EnerDrive Power Inverter System product line includes low voltage and medium voltage NEMA 1, NEMA 3R, and NEMA 4 drives for:

  • Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs)
  • Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCPs)
  • Sucker Rod Pumps (SRPs)
  • Industrial Horizontal Pump Systems (HPS)
  • Industrial Motor Drives for pumps, fans, and similar applications

EnerDrive AC drive HMI control systems use touch screens for low-temperature applications and LCD keypad for high-temperature applications. Our HMIs are intuitive and include all of the protective features normally associated with pump type applications such as;

  • Load related under and over current
  • Under and over voltage
  • External analog and external digital controls
  • Reverse rotation
  • True fundamental output voltage
  • Frequency and current leakage monitoring (optional)

All EnerDrive Variable Frequency Drives can be configured by the user to operate on regular international power supplies of 380V to 600V at 50 or 60Hz, and at 6, 12, 18 or 24 pulses. DX3′s purpose-built high ambient temperature variable speed drives do not require de-rating when used in high-temperature locations.

Advanced features of EnerDrive VFD AC Drives’ include:

Meets IEEE Harmonics Standards

EnerDrive VFD systems configured with 12, 18, or 24 pulse front-end rectifiers are pre-configured at the factory to meet the final application design requirements. Load test may be performed on request to pre-determine performance.

VFD Enclosure Construction

EnerDrive electrical cabinets are purpose built in powder-coated steel and meet IP or NEMA enclosure standards. We also customize our designs and manufacture in full stainless steel for harsh or corrosive environments. Our VFD drive systems are configured for rapid field installation and can be configured with input and output junction boxes for cable connection.

Direct On Line (DOL) Bypass Feature

The EnerDrive DOL VFD bypass system is used when a fully redundant power system is required. The VFD bypass system contains switches and contactors that are engaged by a manual or motorized external selector switch. This allows motor power to selectively come from the Variable Frequency Drive or an across-the-line starter, reducing lost operating time.

Output Waveform Sinewave Filter (Optional)

EnerDrive AC drive systems may be specified with the EnerWave IEEE 519 standard compliant line, sinewave, or dv/dt filters. The ED-600 Series Sinewave Filter dissipates the high-frequency harmonics on the VFD output, so that the output then resembles a true sinewave. RESULT: lower insulation stress and longer motor-cable system run-life.

Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (TVSS) (Optional)

A TVSS uses state-of-the-art MOV devices assembled in a non-destructive, fuse-protected NEMA 4 enclosure. The device may be mounted inside the Variable Speed Drive electrical enclosure without additional protective devices such as circuit breakers.
